HIGH-SUPERIOR TENSION TECHNIQUE
Abdominoplasty permanently restores skin firmness and muscle relaxation of the abdominal region. During the operation, an incision is made at the height of the pubic area (so the scar will be hidden by the swimsuit and underwear) through which we can tighten the muscles. Dr.Ektor applies the advanced High-Superior Tension technique through targeted sutures of the skin and abdominal muscles, which enables the effective reduction of excess skin, as well as the strengthening of the abdominal wall. When there is significant distension of the abdominal muscles, such as after pregnancy, the doctor may choose to use a strengthening biological mesh (galaflex mesh), which induces collagen production and supports the abdominal wall. Fat deposits can be removed with liposuction. Targeted liposuction (3D High-definition Lipoabdominoplasty) as part of a lipo-abdominoplasty can be applied to tone and reveal the abdominal muscles giving a full six pack. After the muscles are tightened, the excess skin is removed. Women who have previously given birth by caesarean section have the option of having the incision scar removed during the abdominoplasty so that only a thin scar remains.
We recommend that all our patients, before having any surgery or even non-invasive treatments to treat cellulite, stretch marks or muscle laxity, first try changing their diet and exercise. A very important condition for performing an invasive abdominoplasty procedure is consistent abstinence from smoking, typically for 1 month minimum, as this makes healing and recovery difficult.
